Austeek is the new brand name for Australia’s leading and most trusted PVC marine deck builders. We design, manufacture and install synthetic PVC decking for boats and yachts around Australia. Austeek is a division of Aczel Marine Shipwright Services and represents a new beginning for the team recognised as an Australian pioneer in PVC synthetic decks.

Aczel Marine is the parent shipwright business that has been restoring and refitting timber and fibreglass boats since 1996. Austeek is the specialist division covering everything to do with synthetic PVC decking — templating, manufacture and installation. Aczel Marine continues to handle traditional shipwright services like timber and fibreglass repairs, marine windows and custom components.

Permateek is a superior quality decking material, manufactured in the UK from UV stabilised and stain resistant PVC. Austeek has been appointed as a Permateek agent, and it’s our preferred synthetic decking because it delivers the qualities and good looks of real teak with none of the hassle often associated with artificial alternatives.

  • Non-slip, wet or dry
  • Looks like new, season after season
  • Stain resistant
  • Simple to clean — just brush with soapy water
  • No regular sanding or oiling needed
  • One of the cooler-to-walk-on choices on offer — the lighter the deck colour, the cooler it will be

Our focus has shifted to Permateek as our preferred PVC synthetic decking. That said, we still hold a stock of Flexiteek raw material and can work with it on request. Speak to us if you have a specific need for a Flexiteek deck and we’ll talk through your options.

Yes. Depending on your manual skills, templating and laying a new deck can be a masterpiece or a costly disaster. Austeek is happy to build a deck based on your own template — in fact, we’ll provide you with the right kind of templating material. Likewise, we’re happy for you to install your deck after the build. We’ll ship the finished deck to you with instructions on the correct preparation and recommended adhesives.

If Austeek handles the templating, the build and the final installation, all our work is warranted for two years, on top of a five-year warranty on raw material defects.

If you template and/or install the deck yourself, the warranty covers only manufacturing defects in the decking materials for five years — not the finished design or installation.

Austeek’s full range of services is available Australia-wide. We’re based at our purpose-built factory on Russell Island in southern Queensland and provide a mobile service to marinas throughout South East Queensland. We can also come to you to template your boat, build the deck and ship it, then return to install — costs for travel and freight are quoted when the order is lodged.

Every boat is different — deck area, complexity, layout and finish all affect the price. We provide a written quote once we have the details of your boat (or once you’ve supplied your own template). Get in touch with the team and we’ll walk you through the next steps.

Lead times vary depending on the size and complexity of the deck and our current workload. Once we have your template (or have completed templating ourselves), most decks can be manufactured and ready for installation within a few weeks. Tell us about your project and we’ll give you a realistic timeline at the quote stage.
